Page 1 of 4 If catalogues were not made on location we either create them when the images are transferred to the laptop at the hotel or use our office server (see below) for cataloging the images and making selections. Software iView Mutimedia We use batch rename to ensure we have unique file names for the shoot and ones that won't clash from previous shoots where because of the number of images being shot could be the same. We make then make selections by first deleting obviously bad images, then secondly adding a colored label to the best images which we then select and copy to another folder. We then create another Iview catalogue which we name "Choice". We will then batch Jpeg rotate any jpeg images in the choice folder. This is processor intensive and relatively slow as iView does a loss less rotate of the Jpeg (so it doesn't open and make another jpeg save on its self) so this is only done on 'choice' images. RAW images will stay non rotated until they opened and saved in Photoshop or another RAW file handling program. Other Software Photoshop Browser This is part of Photoshop and available from the Window menu. This is a pretty good media browser but can appear slow and does not make catalogues as such but can be used to make contact sheets. Does not do loss less rotations (unless we missed something in the latest updates) as to do batch rotation PS actually opens and resaves the jpeg image. Advantage is of course quick double click access to Photoshop editing. Media card Errors Rescue Pro by SanDisk seems to save the day by recovering bad compact flash cards when they show no image files. Slow to find the images and renames them all filexxx, but has worked nearly every time we have had a problem.
