Canon 550EX Speedlight Flash

Epson P-2000 Multimedia Storage Viewer
This was God Send! A 40 GB hard drive, card reader and an excellent LCD screen really took away the stress of worrying about running out of memory cards, or having to carry a laptop and it also meant that it could be passed to art directors and clients who were literally a pain in the neck as they leant on you r shoulder to look at the shots on the camera back. The Epson not only downloads the Compact Flash and SD cards used  by the Canon bodies, but creates the catalogues with thumbnails and allows zooming on the very clear and sharp screen of images including RAW images. The transfers to the Epson have been error free, but unlike other devices that use the embedded thumbnail of the image, the opening of the image for viewing on the Epson means that it opens the file and so it can be checked that it is not corrupt. This is an important before reformatting and reusing the cards. Just downloading cards to a hardrive were you can't actually view and check the images could mean the main image file is actually corrupt from the transfer (a lot of software uses the preview thumbnail generated by the camera to show a catalogue - but this is not the main image file.) An 80Gb hard drive version is available, but smaller sizes mean you have to empty them and ensure the images are backed up. A larger hard drive might mean you were tempted to leave images on there which could be a problem if the hard drive failed (and they do!!!) or your camera bag was stolen. As with all these neat electronic gadgets they need power and batteries don't last long, so its recommended to take a spare battery and the car power adapter too.
